The necessity for multilateral solutions extends beyond the COVID-19 pandemic and encompasses all transnational risks, such as the climate crisis, water and air pollution, the spread of weapons of mass destruction, and the emergence of new technologies without established principles and norms.

A more interconnected form of multilateralism is imperative, with robust coordination between international financial institutions, regional and international organisations, and public and private alliances. We require an inclusive approach to multilateralism, which involves civil society, business, local and regional authorities, and other stakeholders while distributing power more equitably and inclusively.
